A single-color screenprint design for Coastal Watershed Council’s 2019 Snapshot Day.
Snapshot Day is the oldest and largest single-day annual water quality monitoring event in California. It’s a highly anticipated event, bringing together community members and professionals to collect data and learn more about local watersheds.
When I joined the process, the group had an idea already about how they wanted the composition of the illustration to look and gave me a rough sketch one of their team members did. From there, I added in the specific details of the characters, plant species, and bug species that they wanted included. We went through a couple rounds of revisions, adding or taking out certain details, in order to arrive at the final result. Coastal Watershed Council printed the final design on blue t-shirts pictured, and it was given to all volunteers on the day of.
